Speech of Madison provides speech and language therapy services to children and adolescents up to 18 years of age and adults on a case by case basis. Service areas include evaluation and treatment of a variety of communication delays and disorders, including articulation and oral motor skills, language comprehension and production, fluency, pragmatic/social language, cognition and executive function.
Speech of Madison is committed to an evidenced-based practice approach, integrating current, high quality research evidence with clinical and educational expertise along with client values and preferences. Further, it is the mission of Speech of Madison to provide individuals and their families with knowledge regarding communication, proven methods to enhancing and improving communication skills, ensuring individuals have access to communication therapy and support to achieve their fullest potential in the area of communication.
SHARON MARCZEWSKI M.S.CCC-SLP, C-PESL
Sharon Marczewski, M.S., CCC-SLP,
C-PESL Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the state of Connecticut and the District of Columbia, Sharon has over 20 years experience as a speech-language pathologist. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of New Hampshire. She completed fellowship training and multidisciplinary grant research through Dartmouth University. Areas of expertise include early childhood and adolescent speech and language disorders, motor speech disorders, oral myofunctional disorders, cleft lip/palate and craniofacial anomalies, pragmatic/social language disorders, cognition and executive function disorders. Sharon has experience in a number of professional settings, including hospital, private clinics, school-based, and Birth-to-three settings.
Sharon developed a passion for language early in her educational career. She decided on a career path in speech-language pathology when realizing the potential to combine her language and linguistic talent with her desire to improve the lives of others through successful communication. Given the diverse field of speech-language pathology, Sharon gained years of experience in a variety of professional settings, which led to the establishment of Speech of Madison. Sharon is invested in providing appropriate and thorough evaluation and treatment to best suit client needs and help them succeed in educational and life situations.
Sharon upholds the standards set forth by ASHA for continuing education and professional development. Additionally, she has completed over 120 hours of continuing education in the areas of cleft lip/palate, craniofacial anomalies and facial nerve palsy as a member of the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association and participant in the the International Facial Nerve Symposium. She is a published author of pediatric feeding outcomes following craniofacial surgery. She is PROMPT trained (level I PROMPT). Sharon is also a certified PESL instructor (Pronouncing English as a Second Language) through the Compton Institute of Language and Phonology.
Sharon is a long-time shoreline resident and mother of three with a passion for serving the community. She is a tennis and baseball fan, enjoys studying foreign languages and traveling abroad.
